The item has a "9ct Metal Core", this means it has a thick outer layer of 9ct gold, bonded onto base metal. It's 1/5th thick, therefore 1/5th 9ct and 4/5th base metal. To give you an idea it's about 4 times thicker than rolled gold/gold filled. The total weight is approx. 24.08g and the item measures approx. 18cm or 7" in circumference. The gold finish is still strong with some marks and scratches on it as to be expected with age and use. The gold finish has worn from the safety chain.
