DESCRIPTION: A stunning and rare genuine antique Georgian black dot paste star shape brooch, made from solid silver. The piece has a solid back and old cut foil backed pastes. As to be expected with the items age, the silver isn't stamped/hallmarked, it tests for high grade silver. The item weighs approx. 7.79g and the size dimensions are in the later photos. As to be expected with age and use, some of the pastes have darkened with age and use, see pictures/video. It looks like the item used to have something in the centre, this has been cut away. The hinge and clasp have been added, meaning the item was likely another piece of jewellery originally.
