DESCRIPTION: A stunning antique Victorian oval locket, made with a solid 9ct 375 gold front and back and hand engraved with thistle decoration. It weighs approx. 4.50g, opens/closes well and the size dimensions are in the later photos. To confirm, the front and back faces of the locket are solid 9ct gold, the frame, hinge and bail are made from rolled gold base metal. As to be expected with the items age, it isn't hallmarked/stamped apart, it tests as explained above. It has the original metal picture retaining shim on one side. The rolled gold on the frame has worn in areas, showing the base metal underneath (see pictures/video). There is an old lead solder mark on the inner left face.
