DESCRIPTION: A great antique Victorian Whitby jet flower cameo brooch. The item is large in size and is in good condition with no major chips or cracks. It weighs approx. 18.79g and the size dimensions are in the later photos. The rear pin section is not original, it looks like a vintage replacement that has been attached at a later date. The cameo centre is vulcanite and the rest of the brooch is Whitby jet. This was common practise in the Victorian era as Whitby jet was difficult to carve with such a high relief and was prone to cracking.
